Westies

Westies will not be ignored. They love to watch TV, bark at squirrels, and run around the coffee table. They need to be groomed, but don’t shed. They are clean and easy to live with, but don’t listen unless they think it’s their idea; can’t be trusted off-lead; love to dig and adore whomever has the cookie. Small children and Westies do not often go together. The pup jumps, has sharp claws, and sharp baby teeth. That can be pretty scary for a young child. Terriers are not for everyone.

They might look cute and cuddly--and they are cute but not cuddly little lap dogs. If you decide that a Westie would work in your home, look for a healthy environment and healthy parents. Both are critical to having a healthy pet that lives for 10-15 years.

Take a look at the Westies that come from MARDOT®, and in addition to bringing lots of joy to their owners, have won in the show ring. Click on any photo to see a larger image.
